a new Milanese campus and 500 million investments

The French group Data4, leader in data centers, has announced that it wants to double its investments in Italy: from around 1 billion to 2 billion, out of a total of 7 billion overall for its expansion until 2030. And the master plan of the Al-Ready Mil02 campus in Vittuone (Milan). The investment is 500 million euros. The works will start in 2025. The Cornaredo campus will also grow with 4 million euros to redevelop Villa Castelletto and where the Dc09 data center was inaugurated.

During the event, which was also attended by the French ambassador to Italy Martin Briens and representatives of the Lombardy Region and the Municipalities of Milan, Cornaredo and Settimo Milanese, the Milan area was discussed as a strategic hub for attracting foreign capital and of the relevance of data centers for digitalisation and the development of artificial intelligence.

Once the operation is completed, between Vittuone and Cornaredo Data4 will be present in Italy with 18 data centers distributed over 28 hectares of land, with a total power of approximately 300 Megawatt hours.

“The data centers of tomorrow will be infrastructures with high power and computing capacity, which will act as real enablers for the development of artificial intelligence in the countries in which we operate”, declared Olivier Micheli, president of Data4.
