Cagliari Ichnusa with partners Legambiente Sardegna and Urban center together for a new Sardinian brewery project for environmental protection. A continuation of the advertising campaign with television commercials, posters and newspaper adverts, in which the main theme was raising awareness of the fight against the indiscriminate abandonment of glass bottles with the effective slogan “If it has to end like this, don’t even drink from it” . And which was called “Our commitment”. Yesterday, Saturday 15th, the first of over twenty “talking bins” branded Ichnusa for the collection of glass was inaugurated on the Calamosca beach in Cagliari, which launch the message of responsibility and respect for Sardinia, taking up the slogan against abandonment of own-produced beer bottles. Each of these bins is embellished by the intervention of young Sardinian muralists and illustrators. Drawings and awareness messages adhering to the tradition of island muralism.

The first bin was decorated by Roberta Scano, aka Canarian, who in his work was inspired by the tradition of the works that can be admired on the facades of the houses of Orgosolo. Scano will take care of the bins that will be distributed in the south of the island. The other two artists involved are Carlo Gianbarresi And Andrea D’Ascanio, will instead illustrate containers that will be positioned in some strategic areas of central and northern Sardinia. The muralists were selected together with Urban Center, an interdisciplinary group based in Cagliari, which sees innovation and creators as the tools to create changes and generate improvements in the territories. In line with the Ichnusa tradition, the selection rewarded artists who have a deep connection with the territory and convey messages of respect for the island. The objective of the bins conceived in this way is to make the collection of glass more functional and easier but also to stimulate it and make it more fun.

«This initiative marks the second consecutive year of our collaboration with Ichnusa – said the artistic director of Urban Center Daniele Gregorini – . Through this partnership, we renew our commitment to positioning contemporary art and muralism as a tool for the care of public space and become spokespersons for actions aimed at raising awareness in the community on the importance of acting as protagonists to keep alive the spaces in which we live.”

«Ichnusa’s commitment to protecting the beauties of Sardinia has deep roots – he said Matteo Borocci, director of the Ichnusa Brewery -: we have been active in the area for years and team up with local communities to promote and defend the beauty of our Sardinia. Today, with the creation of personalized bins by Sardinian artists, we add a new piece to this mosaic of respect for the island. The bins, which will be distributed in some of the main meeting points of the Sardinian nightlife, the same ones where, in recent months, the people of the Brewery and the volunteers of Legambiente Sardegna have undertaken cleaning actions”.

A cleaning action that was also carried out early yesterday morning at Poetto with Legambiente volunteers and journalists from the peninsula who were guests of Ichnusa.
