Nutella ice cream, frog legs and shrimp recalled

The first recall for ice cream Nutella has already been triggered, as soon as it arrived in Italian supermarkets. The Ministry of Health has also issued a recall of frog legs from Vietnam and spicy pickled shrimp. In all cases, the reason indicated is a labeling error which resulted in the absence of some mandatory indications.

The lure of frozen Nutella

The Ministry of Health and Decò supermarkets have reported the recall by the manufacturer of a batch of Ferrero brand Nutella Ice Cream Pot. The reason indicated on the recall notice is the absence of the list of ingredients in Italian. The affected product is sold in 230 gram jars with the lot number L074E32B00 and the expiry date 05/09/2025. Ferrero reports that the lot in question was sold mainly in Campania.

The Ice Cream Factory Comaker company of the Ferrero group produced the recalled Nutella ice cream. The manufacturing plant is located in Calle de la antigua Avidesa 1, in Alzira, Valencia, Spain.

It is possible to find the list of ingredients in Italian on the Ferrero website or by contacting the toll-free number 800 909690.

The call of frog legs

The Ministry of Health, however, published the recall by the manufacturer of a batch of ‘Yoga syle’ 13-15 frog legs under the Epic brand. The reason indicated is the lack of indication of allergens on the label in Italian, which is instead present in other languages. The product involved is sold in packs of 800 grams, with the batch number VN/364/IV/028 21/03/2023 (commercial batch: 347962) with the expiry date 31/12/2024.

The Belgian company Hottler Frozen Food imported the recalled frog legs. The manufacturing plant is located in Vietnam (Vietnam identification mark DL 364).

As a precaution, the company recommends that people allergic to fish and shellfish do not consume frog legs with the expiry date and batch number indicated above and return them to the point of purchase. Consumers who are not allergic to fish and shellfish can eat the product without risk.

The lure of spicy shrimp in oil

Finally, the Ministry reported the recall of a batch of Adriatic pink prawns with lime, ginger and chilli pepper fillet under the Le Ricette di Monia e Lorena brand. The reason, also in this case, is the presence of allergens (fish) not declared on the label. The product in question is sold in 90 gram tubs, with the batch number L148NV and the expiry date 07/26/2024.

The company Blueshark Srl produced the recalled shrimp in oil. The production plant is located in via Valle Piana 80/72, in San Benedetto del Tronto, in the province of Ascoli Piceno (identification mark IT N333C).

As a precaution, people allergic to fish are advised not to consume shrimp with the expiry date and batch number indicated above. Consumers who are not allergic to fish can eat the product.
