Hundred «The outcomes of the national table with Stellantis where the Vm plant in Cento was also discussed are certainly not satisfactory. We demand clarity from the company once and for all.” Mayor Edoardo Accorsi shares the concerns raised by the Region and the unions on the future of the Cento plant, following the discussion held at the Ministry on the company’s prospects. The mayor then underlines his position on the developments of the Stellantis issue in particular on centese factoryalready expressed several times in recent months: «On the sidelines of the national table which involved the exponents of National government and Stellantis I immediately made contact with the regional councilor Vincenzo Colla, whom I thank and with whom there is maximum harmony in approach and vision. On the part of Stellantis, too many variables continue to hover over the Cento plant, almost a mystery, and this is not good.” Accorsi recalls that «over the last year on the regional table, together with councilor Colla and the trade unions, we have asked Stellantis for clarity of vision and consistency between statements and facts. On thehypothesis of a sale, given almost as if at the end of 2023, nothing is known yet. In the meantime, the company’s proposals to employees to accompany them on their exit continue. For months there has been talk of a connection with the Maserati factory in Modena and in recent months there has been worrying news on that too. I believe it is correct and not at all out of place to support that as a city we demand clarity by the company”. The next appointment is in July when, Accorsi further underlines, “a round table will take place in Rome in which Stellantis will close overall agreements with the Government on the Italian factories, there must also be Vm and before the company sits at that table it is appropriate that there is first a sharing with the regional government level, with the municipal administration and with the social partners. We will continue to play our role of guarantee and incentive to protect employment and bring new investments to the plant.” For his part, regional councilor Colla once again asked the company to present a credible industrial plan, while the Fiom invited the Government to summon the CEO of Stellantis.
