Skipping the queues at motorway toll booths without paying for the Telepass service is possible: the initiative launched by the service.
Whether for a trip, for a work commitment or for a simple trip, the queue at the motorway toll booth it remains an obstacle for millions of drivers, forced to wait for the influx to run its course. Anyone who has experienced this type of wait for some time may have joined, or even just considered the possibility, of the Telepass service.
Once you’ve tried this service it’s difficult to go back: not only does it give you access to reserved lanes and free from immediate toll payment, but it grants services such as the payment of parking, car insurance, road tax and even the rental of a scooter or the purchase of a ski pass.
All these services avoid immediate payment and guarantee you can quickly carry out various operations that would otherwise take time. In short, it’s about a real 360° time saver which allows you to improve, in a small way, the quality of life. However, like any convenience, this service has a cost, and recently also very high.
Telepass and the increase in service
In this period, the world of electronic tolls in Italy has been shaken by news that has thrown many motorists into turmoil. Telepass has announced an increase in the price of its subscription by 113%, which will come into force from 1 July 2024. All this will bring the monthly cost from 1.83 euros to 3.90 euros. This increase has inevitably pushed many customers to migrate to competing services which offer more competitive rates and attractive promotions.
UnipolMove, for example, offers a monthly cost of just 1.50 euros and a promotion that includes 12 free months until 28 May 2024. MooneyGo presents a similar offer, with a fee of 1.50 euros per month. Furthermore, the services prove to be equally valid. To stem this mass flight, Telepass has decided to take action and offer valid proposals; both for those who have never tried the service, and for already active customers, even providing the free Telepass service.
Free Telepass for one year
To date, anyone who tries to cancel Telepass, is contacted by customer service with a proposal that is impossible to ignore: up to 12 months of free subscription. The goal is clearly to convince customers to stay by offering them a period of service at no cost. This, without constraints or additional costs.
The promotion is also valid for new customers: those who decide to activate Telepass Plus by July 15th can access 12 months of zero fees and 20% cashback on the toll. We remind you that this service is valid for up to two license plates and if it is not deactivated after one year, the fee is 4.90 euros per month. The basic telepass, however, costs 3.90 euros per month, after the free period.
