It arrived in the first sales points at the beginning of June 2024 and is already Nutella Ice Cream mania. Ferrero announces it. There are thousands of contents generated on social networks by loyal Nutella fans, who have already managed to taste the new tub ice cream created by Ferrero to offer the unmistakable Nutella experience in a soft and creamy hazelnut ice cream.
Nutella Ice Cream will be progressively available in the main large-scale retail supermarkets in Italy. The presentation event of Nutella Ice Cream to the general public will take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June in Piazza Municipio in Napleswhere it will be possible to live an immersive Nutella experience and taste the creamy novelty.
Nutella Ice Cream represents not only the entry of the Nutella brand into the packaged ice cream market, but also the entry of Ferrero into the tub segment. A market, that of packaged ice cream to be consumed at home, which overall in Italy is worth 1.45 billion euros, growing by 8.4% in value, of which trays represent approximately 30%. The novelty therefore falls within a segment worth approximately 435 million euros.
Federica Roberto, Region Marketing Manager for Ice Cream at Ferrero Italia, speaking on the sidelines of the official presentation event of the new Nutella Ice Cream in Milan, declared: «In the context of the 60th birthday celebrations, Nutella, for the first time in its history, changes shape and turns into ice cream. Not Nutella ice cream, but Nutella that becomes ice cream. Although Ferrero is among the last players to enter the ice cream market in Italy, we have great ambitions: we believe that Nutella Ice Cream can soon become one of the most loved products by consumers in the tub ice cream segment.”
Nutella Ice Cream will be produced in the Alzira plant, Spain, in the province of Valenciathanks to the setting up of a totally new line, characterized by innovative systems and a high degree of automation and technology.
