Elon Musk would have had several relationships with SpaceX employees. This was revealed exclusively by Wall Street Journal. The stories with the workers, who had roles very close to the entrepreneur, would often be resolved – we read in the investigation – with their removal from the company followed by convenient severance pay or with their dismissal. The journalists of the US newspaper listened to around 50 people including former employees, friends and family of the women involved in the affair. Furthermore, messages, emails and documents from the employees’ lawyers were examined.
The testimonies
In the long list of sources cited by Wsj, there is a former employee who said she had a sexual relationship with Musk for about a month in 2014, while she was directly employed by him. Another woman, first an intern and then an employee, testified that she was romantically linked to the Tesla owner in 2019, for about a year. A former flight attendant from the aerospace company, however, told how in 2016 Musk showed himself naked in front of her during a trip and offered to buy her a horse in exchange for sex. While Musk allegedly asked another employee, who left SpaceX in 2013, to have children together. To confirm the harassment received by the entrepreneur, a group of former managers and employees – fired in 2022 – who, through the national Labor Relations Board union, made it known that “a culture of sexism and harassment applies among the company’s managers” .
SpaceX’s replica
SpaceX’s defense was timely. Gwynne Shotwell, the company’s president and chief operating officer, called the allegations “falsehoods and misrepresentations.” «The revisionist history contained in your email paints a completely misleading narrative,» he stated. «I continue to be amazed by what this extraordinary group of people manages to accomplish every day – she continues -, even in the midst of all the forces working against us. And Elon is one of the best human beings I know.” The company, he said, will take appropriate measures.
