Since when Telepass has announced substantial price increases since July 2024, hundreds of thousands of users have switched (or are thinking of switching) to the competition of UnipolMove and MooneyGo, but today we want to answer a question that you readers often ask us: how many license plates can be associated with the various devices?
We have already talked about the general differences between Telepass, UnipolMove and MooneyGo in a previous article, but we have not gone into too much detail. The issue of license plates, then, is very interesting because actually there are substantial differences between the three operators.
Obviously we start from Telepass, the world’s leading electronic toll company. As tradition, Telepass users are accustomed to associating up to a maximum of two license plates to your device. This applies if you subscribe to a Basic or Plus subscription, Telepass Pay Per Use users without subscription and Go by Telepass can combine just a license plate to their device.
The discussion changes slightly with UnipolMove, which uses a slightly different device from the Telepass one for electronic tolling (in fact it still doesn’t work on the Sicilian motorways). In this case, in fact, it is possible to associate only one nameplate for each device. As with Telepass, the license plate can be changed at any time, but for greater convenience you can request a second device to record a second license plate. At the moment the fee for the two devices is on promotion at zero euros for one year, when the promo expires you will pay 1.50 euros per month for the first device, 1 euro per month for the second. A private user can request up to 2 devices, a business customer up to 30 devices.
Thus we come to talk about MooneyGo, a service which on the technological front is extremely similar to Telepass (the same Slim device is used, only the color changes). In fact, it is also possible to record with this service up to two license plates on a single device. At the time of purchase you need to associate only one license plate, but in the app or on the web it is possible to register the second one at any time, in just a few moments. Unlike Telepass, the registration of the two license plates is valid both with subscription and with the Pay Per Use service.
