The BYD that does 2,100 km on a full tank

MILAN-LISBON WITH A FULL – Let’s imagine a car trip from Milan to Lisbon, which is approx 2,100 km. How many stops are necessary to refuel? It depends on the car’s consumption, but at least two or three. The plug-in hybrid BYD Qin L DM-i promises to be able to travel the entire road with an initial tank. It’s about a sedan which brings the technology to its debut plugins of the Chinese brand’s fifth generation, which optimizes the work between the electric and combustion engines with artificial intelligence, increasing overall efficiency.

ACCORDING TO THE CLTC – The system plug-in hybrid is based on motor 1.5 liter petrol engine with maximum power of 100 HP and torque of 126 Nm. The top of the range version has a 15.8 kWh battery that powers a 217 HP electric engine and allows you to travel 120 km with zero emissions. BYD has not disclosed how large the reservoir of petrol, but it must be quite capacious, given that the company declares a total autonomy of 2,100 km. REACHES 5 METERS – For the rest there BYD Qin L DM-i it is a large, elegant and aerodynamic sedan but not very original in terms of style. Measure 483 cm long, 190 wide and 150 high, with a wheelbase of 279 cm. The front features McPherson strut suspension while the rear features independent four-link suspension. The interior is inspired by Chinese landscape paintings: there is a 15.6-inch rotating central screen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Launched these days on the Chinese market, where it costs money from 12,600 to 17,800 euros (!), it is unlikely to arrive in Europe too.
