For Stellantis there seems to be no peace in Italy, and now a new danger breaks out. Here are the factories involved.
That’s for the group Stellantis in Italy it was not the best moment in history, it was well understood, following the serious tensions that we had the opportunity to experience closely with our government. The seizures of the Fiat Topolinos which took place in Livorno were the final straweven if the leaders of the Dutch multinational holding company tried not to lose their composure, removing the offending Tricolore band from the minicars.
Things seemed to be improving in the last few days, with the Fiat 500 Hybrid assigned to the Mirafiori plant, where it will be built starting from 2026, a great way to relaunch the Piedmontese plant. However, there is no time to enjoy this good news before there is already room to worry about other production sites, located in other areas of Italy.
Stellantis, tensions in Pomigliano and Cassino: the situation
The tense situation between the Government presided over by Giorgia Melonithe Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso and the group Stellantis seems to have been overcome, thanks also to the agreements on Mirafiori, but not everything is as it seems. Indeed, the Fiom-Cgil union has raised the alarm on the Pomigliano d’Arco and Cassino factorieslocated in Campania and Lazio, with the first being the one responsible for the production of Pandina, while the new ones will be born in Cassino Alfa Romeo.
Well, based on the lack of clarity there is on the future of these two plants, it seems that the union has even asked for a discussion table with the executive, so as to be able to provide greater guarantees to the workers. In Pomigliano it was made known that the Pandina will be produced until 2029but apparently, the unions and workers want more certainties, and the same is valid for Cassino, where production of the Stelvio and then the new generation Giulia will start next year.
According to Fiom-Cigl, there would be dark clouds on the horizon regarding the future of these establishments Stellantis, and this is why a hand from the Government is also required, if necessary, with public resources. The situation in the places of production continues to be very unclear in our country, and the time has come to give a clearer reading of what will happen in the future.
