The birth of Accordions is the result of long and complex work that has seen the company engaged since 2018. This innovation does not only concern the final product but also the production process itself. Thanks to the combination between two types of pasta – cocoa and cereal – an external glaze, a delicious filling and a wave shape unprecedented in the food sector, Mulino Bianco requested patent protection to safeguard your creation from possible imitations.

Passione Mulino Bianco, on Italian tables for years

Corrado Ferrari, Product Development Director at Mulino Bianco, underlines the ambition and complexity of the Accordion project like never before in the company’s history. The introduction onto the market represents not only a milestone in terms of product innovation but also a confirmation of the intellectual and cultural leadership of the brand in the snacks sector. The production process stands out for the simultaneous use of baking and direct filling of the biscuits, ensuring organoleptic excellence and food safety thanks to advanced techniques such as pasteurisation.

The production site chosen to give life to the Accordions is that of Melfi in Basilicata, at the forefront in many aspects including quality and excellence for over three decades. The investments recently made amount to over 30 million euros concentrated on sustainable technological innovation and continuous improvement of product quality processes. Every day more than 5,000 checks are carried out on finished products and 200 on raw materials, highlighting the company’s commitment to very high standards.

The plant boasts more than 350 employees who form a multidisciplinary team capable not only of guaranteeing a virtuous exchange between different skills and expertise but also actively contributing to company objectives linked to environmental sustainability. In the last ten years, significant results have been recorded such as a 40% saving in water use and a 27% reduction in CO2 emissions.

With the launch of the Accordions, Mulino Bianco once again demonstrates its innovative capacity not only through the development of a new tasty snack but also through sustainable practices that reflect the company’s fundamental values: superior quality of its products while always keeping an eye on environment.
