There fourteenth, a monthly payment which is added to the thirteenth in some types of contract, is expected by the beneficiaries between the months of June and July. This extra contribution to the pay slip is due only in cases where it is provided for by the national collective agreement employed by the company, but is not paid to the employee on a monthly basis: its amount is accrued and calculated every month of work and subsequently paid in a single solution within the timescales set by the relevant national collective bargaining agreement. The “summer bonus” is formed from the sum of the accruals accrued monthly by the worker from July to June of the following year.
The calculation and the terms
As mentioned, the rules for calculating and defining the terms of payment of the fourteenth salary are reported in the collective agreements, but there are cases in which, although not foreseen by the Ccnl, the “summer bonus” is recognized by theagency through a specific internal regulation. Generally its total is equal to the salary of the month in which it is paid: if the payment must be made by June 30, for example, the amount will be the same as that monthly salary. For its calculation, the months in which the worker is under contract with the company are obviously evaluated, apart from those cases in which accrual of compensation is not foreseen, such as unpaid absences, unjustified absences, suspension from work and from salary, unpaid leave, parental leave, redundancy pay paid directly by INPS to the employee and strike.
Even the deadlines are dictated directly by the rules reported in the relevant Ccnl. In the commercial contract, the fourteenth salary accrues from July to June of the following year, and must be paid by 1 July (therefore keeping in mind that reference is made to the June pay slip).“The personnel included in the scope of this contract will be paid, on 1 July of each year, an amount equal to one month’s salary referred to in art. 195 in effect on the immediately preceding 30 June (fourteenth month’s salary) , excluding family allowances”explains article 208 of the national collective agreement for trade.
Pensions
Some pensioners can also benefit from the fourteenth, a quota generally paid by the INPS in July or December of each year introduced for the first time by law 127 of 3 August 2007 and then modified by law 232 of 11 December 2016 in art.1 -paragraph 187. It is paid to pensioners who are holders of one or more pension benefits under the Compulsory General Insurance and the replacement, exclusive and exempt forms of the same, managed by public compulsory social security bodies, to those over 64 and to those who have a total income of up to twice the minimum annual payment from the Employee Fund. “Based on safeguard clausein the event that the total individual annual income is greater than 1.5 times or 2 times the minimum payment and less than this limit increased by the additional sum due”explains the INPS on its website, “the amount of the fourteenth is paid up to the increased limit”.
For pensioners who have completed the required requirements no later than 31 July of the reference year, the payment of the fourteenth salary takes place in the month of July. Those who satisfy the required income and contribution requirements and who turn 64 from 1 July to 31 December receive the extra monthly payment in December, as do those who become pension holders during 2023.amount varies from a minimum of 336 euros (pensioners with incomes between 1.5 and 2 times the minimum salary and at least 15 years of contributions/18 years self-employed), to a maximum of 655 euros (pensioners with income up to 1.5 times the minimum salary and with more than 25 years of contributions/28 years self-employed).
If the pensioner, despite being entitled to it, does not receive the due amount, it is possible for him to present a specific request for reconstruction online.
