Big changes ahead in Italy, with the Stellantis Group no longer being the only one to produce cars in the Bel Paese.
The last few months between Stellantis Group and the Italian Government have certainly not been among the most serene. The conflicts were evident and continuous, with the parties never managing to fully calm their nerves, with the case linked to theAlfa Romeo Milan (now Junior) who is continuing to cause discussion.
Although it was clear how the Italian company would have given its name Milan to the new car, the news had been known for months, the Government only waited until the days immediately following the presentation of the car to attack the Italian company. In fact, the name is a tribute to the Lombardy capital, but it’s a shame that its production takes place in Poland.
For the institutions, this must be defined in all respects as a sort of misleading advertising, which is why it is the same Stellantis who did not want to create problems and thus give rise to a name change, generating the Junior. The car will not change in the slightest compared to the Milano, but it is only renewed in the name.
However, the Government is not convinced that there is only one large manufacturer in Italy, but has long highlighted the need to have at least a second large manufacturer. We can see it, for example, with the rumors that have been talking for some time about a Toyota and a Tesla that have opened the dialogue with the Bel Paese, but now other very interesting news is arriving.
Dongfeng: production closer to Italy?
If there is a nation that is trying to establish itself on a global level in the production of automobiles, it is China. In fact, the Asian giant is aiming to expand throughout the world and the group Dongfeng is already known in the Bel Paese, being the company to which it refers DR Automobiles.
Apparently this time, as reported “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, it is not the Italian institutions that are looking for new producers, but it is the Chinese company that has come to Italy to find an agreement.
