Amazon continues to fight counterfeiting together with the Ministry of the Interior

Everyone now buys on Amazon, both electronic products and other categories. The e-commerce giant has also become the fixed point for those who love to do their shopping and have it delivered to their home, especially after the launch of the service Amazon Fresh.

At the moment, however, there is a need to deal with a very serious problem which unfortunately affects the whole world, namely the counterfeiting. Amazon has always taken a stand against this harsh reality, which unfortunately has increased significantly over the years. Just last week the new report arrived at the Amazon distribution center in Novara. This, called “Analysis of the phenomenon, ways of operating and counteracting activities“, he would have indicated the guidelines to combat counterfeiting.

It was drawn up by the Criminal Analysis Service belonging to the PS department of Ministry of the Interiorin which Amazon obviously participated.

To follow up on memorandum of agreement between public bodies and private companies which was signed in 2023 to combat counterfeiting, this new report was presented.

The objective set is only one: to be able to expand the network as much as possible of organizations and companies involved in the fight against counterfeiting. The protection of intellectual property is fundamental and this is precisely why we are trying to increase the activity.

The increase in counterfeit products has been significant within the volumes of e-commerce in recent years with underworld which unfortunately managed to fit in. At the same time, the prevention activity that combated the online trade of counterfeit goods was exponentially increased from 2019 to 2023. The operations tenfold while as far as the administrative sector is concerned they have grown by as much as 185 times.

The objective now is to work in full synergy with Amazon, this is what the Ministry of the Interior has set itself. The results will only grow further.
