The CEO of Stellantis, Carlos Tavaresvisited the plant just a few days ago Fiat of Mirafiori and took the opportunity to announce the start of the design of the brand new generation ofFiat 500e electric car. This is the classic car, which we all know, revisited in sustainable key. The car did not reach the expected sales numbers in the last edition and with this new version we hope to catch up on the Italian market.
The improvements made to the Fiat 500e and the possible market launch date
One of the updates made by the company concerns the autonomy of the car, which should undergo a clear improvement. The standard version of the Fiat 500e, as currently available, only reaches 190 km on one charge, very little indeed. The number is very low if you compare it with competitor cars which reach at least i 300-400 km. The hypotheses carried out envisage that the battery will be replaced with a new one from 44 kWhsimilar to Citroen e-C3donating to the driver an autonomy of 320 km.
It is highly likely that Fiat will also go to change the powerbringing an increase compared to the current ones 95 horsepower. Experts believe the 500 could have a increase up to 113, if not even 156 horsepower. Perhaps the hottest news is that the Fiat could also have an electric version a hybrid alternative. Stellantis has not yet communicated anything about it, but it seems that it has already started the initial surveys necessary for the project. The hybrid model should be priced more affordably than the BEV, according to under 20,000 euros.
But when should the new Fiat 500e be launched? Presumably, the next generation will arrive on our roads in about two-three years, between 2026 and 2027although obviously these are just guesses until they come to pass confirmations from Stellantis. If all the hypotheses prove to be real, the next 500 BEV from Fiat could increase market numbers and attract a greater number of buyers thanks to all the improvements.
