“ANIMALS SAVE US” THE BOOK BY VETERINARIAN ALBERTO BRANDI IS ALREADY A BESTSELLER

It was published just a few days ago and is already in third place in the ranking of best-selling books on Amazon. “Animals save us”, the book written by the vet Alberto Brandi. Well known throughout the Arezzo and Tuscan area, Brandi has been working at Castiglion Fiorentino where he runs his own practice and lives with his family. Awarded “Aretino of the Year” in 2019 for his constant commitment to animals and in particular for succeeding – every year – in the titanic undertaking of getting more than 250 abandoned kittens. Brandi is also known as the “VIP vet” for her historic friendship with Lorenzo Jovanotti and with Andrea Scanziwho in fact sign the prefaces of his book, and he is widely followed on social media, especially for his ironic and funny posts.

It is precisely from his social activity that the idea for this first novel was born: “Animals save us” in fact it tells a true story experienced by the vet, when, during a hospital stay in which he found himself fighting between life and death due to Covid-19 pneumonia, he started sharing posts in which he thought about all the animals that have crossed his life. Clinging to the memory of his many four-legged friends and their love, the doctor found the strength to resist without ever losing his smile and irony, until complete healing. This “logbook” of his, shared on social media and written with an irresistible sense of humour, received a wave of attention and affection from his followers who followed his adventure with enthusiasm and asked him to continue telling those stories of hope and courage, with many animals as protagonists.

The Rai author and director for cinema and television Elena Giogli, edited the edition of this beautiful book which presents itself as a series of touching and at the same time hilarious life stories, each of which has as its protagonist a special animal that has crossed the protagonist’s life. Among these there are dogs, cats, horses, badgers, fawns, alpacas, chinchillas, but also pigeons and small fish. The cover and the many illustrations that accompany the various stories were created by the artist Giulia Pulerà.

And after this exploit of online sales, there is great anticipation among the public for the official presentation of the book, which has been scheduled Saturday 29 June at 6pm at the Casa dell’Energia in Arezzo. The event will be presented by the journalist of the newspaper La Nazione Letizia Cini and moderated by Vincenzo Venuto, the well-known animal expert TV presenter, protagonist of many Mediaset programs including Mela Verde, Missione Natura and Alive. It will also be a special moment to meet the local associations involved in the defense and support of animals, including Leidaa, Oipa, Casa Mauu and Lo Scudo di Pan and of course the opportunity to have a copy of the book signed by the author. During the presentation a delicious meal will be offered vegetarian buffet all participants will receive a gadget with each copy of the book purchased. The event is open to the public while seats last.
