“Travelling with the history of memories”. Edda Negri Mussolini in Galatina to present her books

“History is also made up of people and feelings. It’s not just what some people say but there’s something else too.” A reflection, that of the writer Edda Negri Mussolini, which anticipates the topics that will be explored in depth during the presentation of her books “I Mussolini After Mussolini” and “Donna Rachele, my grandmother” which will be held in Galatina on Saturday 22 June, at 6 pm :30, at the Palazzo della Cultura (“Contaldo” Room – entrance via Cafaro).

“I am preparing for another trip, for a new presentation of my books – says the granddaughter of Rachele Guidi and Benito Mussolini, referring to the upcoming appointment in Galatina -. I think that traveling is not just moving from one place to another, but it is a deep immersion in the stories, cultures, and above all, in the memories that each place jealously preserves. The expression ‘Travelling with the history of memories’ comes to mind, because it evokes not only a physical but also an emotional journey, where each destination becomes a vivid chapter of a book that tells the story of humanity through the eyes of those who ‘he lived – explains Edda Negri Mussolini -. If we are careful to observe, every corner holds stories of life, love, but also tragedy. You can breathe in the memories of the people who lived there, or a landscape that was the backdrop to unforgettable moments in the lives of others, but they could also be in ours. These trips become great emotions. ‘Traveling with the history of memories’ aims to be an invitation to explore the world but also ourselves in a deeper and more meaningful way. It is a way to rediscover known and unknown places through our emotions and our experiences, thus making each trip a unique and unrepeatable experience. In every journey – adds the writer -, we are not just simple tourists or travellers, but custodians of stories and memories that will continue to live in us, through us, in those places and making the world an even richer and more colorful palette of experiences and of moments.”

Next Saturday’s meeting in Galatina will be an opportunity to present the two books published by Minerva Edizioni (Bologna) and to meet old and new friends.

“It will be a pleasure to be a guest of a city that moved me when I visited it a few years ago – says Edda Negri Mussolini -. I will be able to see Galatina again after some time and I hope to find my old friends again but also to meet others. A moment of celebration, therefore, and I can tell everyone that it will be a different meeting than usual because each guest will be able to make their own contribution to the evening, perhaps with something you don’t expect, and then because we will talk about people, feelings and emotions. All of this, then, with that smile that has always distinguished me.”
