Fermo sui Libri returns to illuminate the Fermo summer with critical sense and literary passion. Now in its ninth edition, this year the exhibition proposes to investigate the theme of Exampleunderstood, already as in the ancient medieval tradition, as edifying stories which aim both at docere (to teach) that al delight (amuse).

And mutatis mutandis, considering that we are at the beginning of the third millennium, the aim is to raise questions, questions about the models to follow, the civil virtues to cultivate, the shared ideals that create that sense of community that we have lost. It is therefore not a discussion about the past, but a dispute about the present and a comparison of projects for the future. The place designated for the diatribe, or speech, or story is the square (Piazza del Popolo, Piazzale Azzolino), the political place par excellence, the center of the polis and the center of the city. Here the speeches and historical, philosophical, literary and satirical narratives of eight guests will unfold: Serena Dandini, Giordano Bruno Guerri, Luca Sommi, Barbara Alberti, Aldo Cazzullo, Vera Gheno, Maurizio Ferraris, Donatella di Cesare.
