LODI – Wednesday 19 June a public evening dedicated to “Tarantasio” with the new book by Fabio Conti and the stories of Ferruccio Pallavera

Between legends and prizes, on Wednesday 19 June, at 9pm, in Sala Granata, in Lodi, the Tarantasio festival will be held, the children’s newspaper created by «il Cittadino» which takes its name from the mythical dragon that populated the Lodi areas of the lake Gerund. An information tool born in December 2022, which comes out on newsstands two Fridays a month in combination with the historic newspaper, but which, thanks to the triple agreement Newspaper-Municipalities-Schools, also enters participating classes; furthermore, the Tarantasio project offers an online platform (website and social media) that can be consulted all week and is full of news.

At the center of the event on Wednesday 19 June was the presentation of the book “Tarantasio, the dragon of Lake Gerundo”, written by the journalist of the “Eco di Bergamo” Fabio Conti. Through suggestions and anecdotes linked to the Lodi area, the former director of the Lodi newspaper Ferruccio Pallavera will then allow you to enter the fantastic world of the Tarantasio dragon.

Then, time for the awards ceremony: all the Municipalities that have joined the Tarantasio in schools project – whose representatives are invited to the evening – will be given special awards. In fact, to help the students as much as possible, thanks to the adhesion of the Municipalities and the Schools, through a small symbolic partnership, on Fridays “Tarantasio” takes the chair in the classes: so far Lodi città, Codogno, Pieve Fissiraga have joined the initiative , Graffignana, Caselle Lurani, Castiraga Vidardo, Massalengo, Borghetto, Montanaso, Comazzo, Crespiatica, Castelgerundo, Merlino, Zelo Buon Persico, Corte Palasio, Salerano, Cervignano d’Adda, Casaletto Lodigiano, Borgo San Giovanni, Casalmaiocco, Fombio, San Fiorano , Villanova Sillaro (there are places that obviously have more complexes). The evening will open with speeches by the deputy mayor of Lodi Laura Tagliaferri and Lorenzo Rinaldi, director of «il Cittadino». Free admission.

As explained by director Rinaldi, the “Tarantasio” project was born in mid-2022 as «a challenge from the editorial team to try to talk to children in elementary schools and the first years of middle school, encouraging reading, the development of critical thinking and to make them passionate about something that went beyond the use of smartphones and digital tools”, which are certainly interesting, but which do not fully represent the panorama of the training and information offer, through a tool, the children’s newspaper, written and designed with languages ​​suitable for their age.
