Houses of books: Baldecchi’s art

The suburbs of Pistoia are starting to populate again with new houses full of free books for all age groups and interests, thanks to the initiative of the San Giorgio Library. The new houses, located or in the process of being positioned in the hamlets of Villa di Baggio, Fabbiana, Spedaletto and Valdibrana, are added to the first four created thanks to the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, as part of the national project “Library, neighborhood house” and positioned at Fornaci, in Castello di Cireglio, in Pracchia and in the garden of via Paganini in Pistoia.

The first of this new series will be inaugurated on Tuesday 18 June at 5pm in the garden in Via del Campetto of Villa di Baggio, decorated by the Pistoia painter Rossella Baldecchi and created thanks to the collaboration and initiative of the Pro Loco Villa di Baggio and the school of childhood The Tale of Villa di Baggio. The Amici della San Giorgio association will take care of keeping the display of available books up to date, as part of the “From book to book” project. Rossella Baldecchi, the artist responsible for the decoration of the house, will intervene at the inauguration with a distant greeting.
