Arezzo, 12 June 2024 – Physical activity as a vehicle for promoting reading among young people. With the conclusion of the school year, the Body House gym in Bibbiena has structured a new project aimed at boys and girls between fourteen and twenty years old to stimulate the purchase of books and, at the same time, to bring concrete support to local bookshops. The desire is to encourage joint training of the “body” and the “mind” and, consequently, the fitness center has planned an investment to give away fifty vouchers worth twenty euros to its school-age members which will be distributed in the month of June and which can be used exclusively for the purchase of novels, essays, biographies or other literary genres.
The Body House, founded in 1991, is today a point of reference for fitness in the Casentino valley, bringing together over three hundred athletes who are followed by several professionals to encourage a correct and conscious lifestyle that integrates physical activities, correct nutrition, well-being and quality free time. The initiative promoted together with the Lina Giorgi stationery bookstores in Poppi and Punto and Capo di Bibbiena fits into this latter area and saw the gym plan an investment of a total of one thousand euros precisely to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of reading as mind training with proven benefits such as stress reduction, memory improvement and development of critical thinking skills. «“Mens sana in corpore sano” is a phrase that we have chosen to marry with this project – explains Andrea Dalla Ragione, founder and owner of the Body House together with Valentina Fioravanti. – The aim is, with the end of school, to stimulate the kids who train in our gym to also train their mind, continuing to cultivate or discover the pleasure of reading through the gift of a voucher to be used for the purchase of books in stationery bookstores in our area”.
