presentation of Marco Muzzarellidi’s book on June 13th at 5pm at Ariostea and online – Telestense

Marco Muzzarelli’s book entitled “Odèo and other stories” (Edizione Spirali, 2020) collects sixteen stories of as many singular protagonists and will be presented on Thursday 13 June at 5.30 pm in the Agnelli room of the Ariostea municipal library (via Scienze 17 Ferrara). He will talk about it with the author Panteha Shafiei.

The meeting, organized by the cultural association “Second Renaissance Club”, can also be followed live on video on the Archibiblio web YouTube channel.

Entering Odèo’s paradise with the protagonist, following him step by step in the woods, along rivers, intensely feeling the colours, scents, sounds with him, and being thirsty and hungry, afraid and eager, but not giving in to the temptation to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge… Thus begins the story that gives the title to this collection of sixteen portraits of a young writer in his first work.

The events that other protagonists of the collection will encounter are surprising: a grain of sand thrown from the seabed, a one cent coin that has lost its value, a gentleman called Nobody who runs into the paradoxes of his name. And we run with our hearts in our throats together with the protagonist of the story Ombra to escape from the darkness of Via dell’Inferno in Bologna…

The language of this new writer is shrouded in the nuance of dream landscapes. The shortness of the stories leaves the portraits of the protagonists and their stories standing out in the memory, with a happy brevity. With the desire to reread the pages again.

Marco Muzzarelli was born in Sassuolo (Mo) in 1987. After graduating in European languages and cultures at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, he lived in London, San Francisco and Buenos Aires, where he continued his studies with a master’s degree in marketing and worked in the tourism and real estate sectors. Upon returning to Italy, after working in various sectors, he dedicated himself to writing. He collaborates with the cultural association Progetto Emilia-Romagna and with the magazine “La città del Seconda Rinascimento”. Odèo and other stories is his first published work.
