The presentation of Marco Ghizzoni’s book “Le bionde del Benaco” (Laurana Editore, 2024) will be held on Friday 7 June, at 6pm, in the large courtyard of the Passerini Landi library (indoors instead, in case of bad weather). Journalist Tiziana Carabia spoke with the author. The event is part of the “Let’s Cooperate in the Library” exhibition, a series of meetings on the occasion of the national Il Maggio dei Libri campaign, in collaboration with Librerie Coop Piacenza.

The plot of the book starts from Gardone Riviera, where a cold and rainy April keeps tourists away and displeases campers and hoteliers. One above all, the German Jurgen Mann, owner of the campsite The Enchanted Beach who, that afternoon, abandoned to contemplate the landscape in front of a cold beer, suddenly notices something strange in the water: the lifeless body of a man. Meanwhile, commissioner Umberto De Tullio has just gotten up and has no idea what awaits him. Still carrying the weight of yet another night of alcohol and loneliness, when he arrives at the police station in Desenzano del Garda, they first assign him the new intern, Sabrina Toniolo, a beautiful Venetian capable of making him feel even uglier and inadequate than he is. , and then they inform him of the body found at the campsite. But the worst is yet to come…

Marco Ghizzoni lives in Cremona, where he was born in 1983. His mother owned a bar for almost twenty years in a small town in the province of Cremona, a crossroads of stories and characters that animate the Boscobasso series, which began with “The hat of the marshal” (2014), and continued with “The sins of the bowler” (2015) and “The legacy of Fantini” (2016), published by Guanda.
