Benedetta Tobagi, Maurizio De Giovanni, Roberto Saviano, Chiara Valerio, Fabio Volo, Antonio Scurati are some of the guests of the first edition of the literary festival promoted by the Municipality of Lodi, Il Fiume dei Libri, from 13 to 16 June. The artistic direction is entrusted to Cadore 33 by Riccardo Cavallero and Teresa Martini. The event was created with the aim of transforming the city, crossed by the Adda river, into a cultural reference square that also knows how to raise awareness on issues such as water, the environment and sustainability.

“Lodi is a territory that must be culturally valorised, starting from the Adda which crosses it. This first edition is therefore an opportunity for us to begin sowing in a territory, developing over time a far-reaching project with future involvement of schools. We have thought of a program that will be able to satisfy the demand of the public who love very different genres and that will be able to fill the square in front of the Duomo with enthusiasm for the entire weekend”, declares Teresa Martini.

“It will be a first edition that will lay the foundations to give continuity to the festival by organizing events throughout the year and – concludes Martini – always remembering that every cultural event becomes an opportunity to get to know, explore and then return to the territories that host it and to unite therefore the pleasure of a trip to that of a new cultural experience will be this for us: a strong connection between culture, Lodi and the territories ranging from Milan to Piacenza, from Crema to Pavia”.

“This is a wide-ranging and quality event that is part of the activities with which the Administration wants to enhance the Adda River. We want to open up the city and make it attractive with an initiative that has the ambition to expand and remain in time and to characterize our Lodi”, explains Tommaso Premoli, special advisor to the mayor for river policies and landscape protection.

“The revitalization of the city’s cultural environment – continues Premoli – goes hand in hand with the great project of bringing the river back to the center of the life of our city. Culture flows like water, making everything it touches fertile”.
