SESTO FIORENTINO – “Harmless musical chronicles of an atrocious time” by Enio Brusci, published by «apice libri» is a refined dive into music, a kaleidoscope of reviews that Bruschi has written over the years.

Bruschi, a philologist, deals with music criticism with great passion as well as contemporary literature. A frequent collaborator of TomTomRock, he has brought together some of his record reviews in the book.

In the volume Bruschi decided to bring together articles that had been published on occasion, giving new shape to his tastes, even his obsessions (like the eclectic British singer-songwriter PJ Harvey), and giving great space to those who, with bad today’s expression, they define themselves as “losers” and those who, with an inevitable expression, define themselves as “dead”. Then when he manages to cross the two categories he really gives the best of himself.

Then there are the truly alternative, sometimes even trashy, like Renato Zero and Franco Califano, who have achieved many successes, although those who listen to good music look at them with poorly concealed horror.

There is no shortage of discoveries of niche realities, splendid icons (such as Jane Birkin), and some sacred monsters of rock and pop music, such as Neil Young.

The book will be presented on Saturday 25 May at 5pm at the Rinascita bookshop. With the author there will be Adriano Primadei, music therapist and musician, Giuseppe Giari, philologist and Marina Montesano, editorial director of TomTomRock.
