The Institute of Contemporary History of Ferrara and Officina Roversi present on Friday 10 May, at 5.30 pm, a special event in the setting of the cloister of Santo Spirito (vicolo Santo Spirito 11): the presentation of the book “Musica e Parole: brief history of song of authors in Italy” by Paolo Talanca.

The evening dedicated to lovers of music, history and culture, will see the author Paolo Talanca dialogue with Vito Contento (member of the scientific committee of Iscofe) and Francesco Guarino (singer-songwriter and artistic director of Officina Roversi). They will share their experiences and reflections on the connections between music and words in contemporary history, offering the audience a unique perspective on the rich tradition of Italian song.

After the presentation of the book, the lawn will be transformed into a musical arena to welcome the singer-songwriter Max Manfredi, accompanied by the violinist Alice Nappi. In a concert that promises to excite, Max Manfredi will give the public a performance that blends melody and poetry, bringing to the stage what critics consider the best in the tradition of Italian song.

Entrance is free, and in case of rain the event will be held in the Iscofe conference room at the same address.

Paolo Talanca is a member of the Board of Directors of the Club Tenco of Sanremo of which he is also part of the Jury. He is artistic director of the Civic School of Music and Theater of Montesilvano. Teacher trainer for the publishing house La

Max Manfredi, on the stage for thirty years, is a singer-songwriter, writer and man of theatre. Fabrizio De André, who wanted to sing one of his songs on the album “Max”, said of him: “he is the best of all”. According to Roberto Vecchioni he is “someone who I can’t even limit with the term singer-songwriter”. He has published six albums and four books and won numerous awards and plaques (including a Tenco plaque for the best album of the year, Luna persa, in 2008) but more than all this, it is his songs that present him. The undisputed originality of his poetic and musical language has made him the subject of university studies and theses. He carries out his business in Italy and abroad. He lives in the Sturla neighborhood of Genoa, the city where he was born.
