Beyond 40 schools involved across the entire regional territory. 16 authors. 12 thousand small and very small readers; from childhood, moving from the five-year primary school desks to those occupied by the older first grade high school students. These are the extraordinary numbers that have been recorded every year for 6 editions now Book Olympicsthe longest festival there is, which starts in September and ends in June, promoted by the Coccole Books publishing house.

These are just some of the schools that hosted the final stages of the Book Olympics which featured the authors (Daniela Valente, Anna Lavatelli, Anna Vivarelli, Pino Pace, Gigliola Alvisi, Guido Quarzo, Andrea Giliberto, Fulvia Degl’Innocenti , Dino Ticli, Andrea Bevacqua, Cinzia Capitanio, Chiara Segre, Arianna Papini, Cristina Servidio, Marco Dazzani and Chiara Patarino) and the little readers.

The Book Olympics represent an initiative to promote reading and disseminate books, which involves the personal and shared reading of the same text by each class during the school year. You participate by reading the chosen book. Teachers are provided with an activity sheet created by the author, to support the reading of the book and propose some activities to carry out in class.

Furthermore, in the agreed period, between February and May, the classes meet the author of the book read. During the meeting they ask questions, show their work, present any performances and ask for a copy to be signed.
