The theme of the XXXVI edition of the Book Fair is An imaginary life. An imaginary life, as it moves creativity and sometimes anticipates and intuits the events of real life. It is a desire that pushes those who express it to overcome everyday life and passivity, to immerse themselves in new worlds where reality and fantasy mix, where everything is possible. Even this year, Bonfirraro publisher is ready to return to the “Turin Book Fair”, from 9 to 13 May, pavilion 3 stand P73 from this edition under the guidance of journalist Annalena Benini, proposing a new approach to culture and literature.
It is a return to the origins and history of our nation, placing at the center not only present life but also the expectation of a future that we can build through creativity, culture and literature.
It is an opportunity to go beyond boundaries that embrace history and future, diversity and identity, culture and freedom. For Bonfirraro, this will be a further challenge, but the primary objective remains to also reach international borders. This new edition will be the opportunity to present the new New Zealand author to the public of the Turin Book Fair John E. Dennett and his new dystopian novel The residium – Route to Rome, confident that this book will capture the imagination of keen readers. Another foreign author who enriches the Bonfirraro catalogue, where many international authors are present. This year Bonfirraro plans to increase the presence of foreign authors with the launch of the new series dedicated to the female world, with important works by authors from all over the world.
An editorial project directed by Fabiana Chillemi, the aim is to acquire foreign authors from all over the world from Europe to Asia and from Africa to America. “The new series, Sibille, will be a tribute to the strength, diversity and beauty of female experiences that will capture the attention and hearts of the most loyal public,” says Alberto Bonfirraro, marketing manager of the publishing house.
An opportunity not to be missed will certainly be the presence of the book The mystery of Rol’s Perfume by Carmelina G. Novembre, previewed at the stand of the publisher Bonfirraro. The author will be present every morning during the Fair, from the opening until 1pm to meet readers and sign copies.
In a time when the future seems so distant and dangerous, and when hope fades with every tragedy, every attack on humanity, every division, the publishing house doesn’t give up, but aims to bring a breath of freshness, history, imaginary future and important chapters of history. It will be a way to overcome the boundaries they embrace history and future, diversity and identity, culture and freedom.
