Ortona, the latest book by historian Marco Patricelli welcomed with enthusiasm – Notizie d’Abruzzo

In the historic church of S. Caterina d’Alessandria in Ortona, Marco Patricelli’s latest book “Cut the rope” was presented, which recounts with rich historiographical and documentary content the escape of the royals, Badoglio and the military leaders from Ortona for Brindisi, after the announcement of the armistice on 8 September.

Andrea Di Marco also spoke at the event and provided a further historical contribution in the reconstruction of that unfortunate period for Italy, from the fall of fascism on 25 July to 12 September with the liberation of Benito Mussolini in Campo Imperatore for work of the Germans with Operation Quercia.

The event was organized by the local section of the Catholic Union of Italian Artists (UCAI) and opened with the initial greetings of the president, Novelia Marinozzi, the Ecclesiastical Assistant, Don Giuseppe Grasso and the vice president Diva Santorelli who explained the aims of the association and commitments for the upcoming jubilee year.
