They fly. At the Torre della Finanza, one of the symbolic monuments of the area, protagonist of the recent 32nd edition of the FAI Spring Days, the second edition of the International Book Day began, a cultural initiative which, in turn, pave the way for May some books.

Among the associations that are continuing to stand out, for their innumerable promotional and valorisation activities of the Torre della Finanza, in a tourist-cultural key, Volano Borgo Antico stands out, chaired by Marco Ruffato, with whom the Municipality of Codigoro has stipulated an agreement, to attract more and more tourists and visitors.

The free exchange of books, an initiative promoted in collaboration with the Libri Parlanti and Van Leggendo nel Borgo groups, will be the setting for the meetings with the authors, which will take place on Saturday afternoons, from 27 April to the end of May.

“This year – declared the mayor Sabina Alice Zanardi -, Volano Borgo Antico and the “Giorgio Bassani” municipal library have outdone themselves, organizing an exhibition of the highest cultural depth. For this edition, International Book Day opens up to sculpture, hosting the exhibition of the sculptor Attilio Tosini, which can be visited on weekends until the end of May. From next Saturday here in Volano and from Wednesday 8 May, in the library, we will witness a sort of ideal literary relay, through meetings with local authors and journalists and others who, like Valerio Varesi and Marcello Simoni, have achieved fame, even in ‘abroad, with their detective novels.”

Marco Ruffato, after having done the honours, left the floor to Ancilla Beltrami, Lara Beltrami, Paola Zambolini and Rossella Viriginia Cermaria, (Libri Parlanti group), who attempted to read 4 poems, taken from the collection ” Fresh Water – Salt Water – Where the Po meets the sea” by the local writer and poet Anna Bigoni, present in the room.

The cutting of the ribbon in front of the imposing wooden sculpture by Attilio Tosini, depicting a Madonna with child preceded the opening of the second edition of the free exchange of books, which will continue tomorrow, Sunday 21 April and over the next few weekends. The inaugural ceremony was attended by, among others, the education councilor Simonetta Graziani and the entire family of the sculptor Tosini.

On Saturday 27 April, at 6 pm, the Saturday afternoon literary café will host the writer and journalist Luciano Boccaccini, who will present his books, focused on the local history of Comacchio: “The salt workers tell” and “The work of women in Comacchio ”. All cultural events and the Attilio Tosini exhibition are free of charge.
