It was inaugurated today, Wednesday 17 April, a new “Little Free Library” or “Book House” located in the waiting room of the Ravenna Emergency Department and created thanks to the collaboration of the “Villaggio Globale” Social Cooperative and the “Enrico Liverani” Library.

Present at the inauguration were Andrea Strada, Director of the Ravenna Emergency Department, together with the Nursing Coordinator Sabrina Morigi, Katia Prati of the Ravenna Nursing Directorate and Valentina Sisti of the Ravenna Medical Directorate, the nurse Sara Santi who actively collaborated in the creation of the library, Roberta Vitali representing Villaggio Globale and Eleonora Morlotti, together with some librarians and volunteers, representing the Liverani Library.

“The idea of installing a small bookcase inside the Ravenna emergency room, like those that can be found around the Ravenna area, was born with the desire to lighten the wait of patients and caregivers, providing everyone in the room with the opportunity to read books, take them home with them but also donate their own, enriching the House and building a real “network” in solidarity – explain from the Romagna ASL –. In particular, word of mouth has been and will continue to be the most effective communication tool for creating and consolidating this network, which has already been created and has already consolidated within the department itself and the hospital thanks to all the medical staff, nursing and OSS who contributed to setting up the bookshop by bringing and therefore donating their books”.

“The Little Free Library was created thanks to the collaboration with Sara Santi, Roberta Vitali and the Magliette Gialle guys, using recycled materials and non-toxic colors – conclude from the ASL -. “A heartfelt thank you from Dr. Strada and all those present at the inauguration to Sara Santi, Roberta Vitali and the boys of the Magliette Gialle di San Pietro in Trento for having created the bookcase with recycled materials and non-toxic colors and to the Library Liverani for enriching it with his own books. Finally, thanks also to Dr. Marchetti, Director of Paediatrics of Ravenna, for having provided all the children’s books present inside the Casetta”.
