Fourth appointment of the 2024 edition, Spring/Summer Season, of Il Sabato dei Libri. Saturday 20 April at 10.15 am at the Zirandea Garden Space in Chiavari, Via Raggio 37, (entrance to Palazzo Marana exedra gate), meeting with Alessandra and Armanda Bertini.

Author: Alessandra and Armanda Bertini
Title: Armando Gori – The Helmsman by L. Rizzo, Ed. Il Portolano (2023)

It is the desire that is the common thread at the next meeting of Il Sabato dei Libri in Zirandea Garden.
The desire of two sisters who are passionate about archival research, both family and institutional historical archives, to reconstruct the story of a “grandfather”, a protagonist of important events in great history, but outlining a portrait that highlights that who is first and foremost a man.
Then the desire for all of us, readers and otherwise, to know and delve into events that are apparently distant, but which turn out to be dangerously very current and contemporary, if we think about what the geopolitical panorama offers and the wars that surround us.
But above all, through the presentations and exhibitions that took this book around in various parts of Italy, we shared with the authors the amazement and desire aroused by this book in young people.

HIROAndCO’s mission is inclusion between generations, raising awareness of reading and writing, overcoming prejudice and ignorance… for the love of knowledge: for us the greatest desire.
This book and the story that you can listen to directly from the authors, responds to all this, another journey that we invite you to take, knowing that you will be surprised once again.

Alessandra Bertini Bio: graduated in Classics at the University of Genoa, taught literary subjects in high schools. Passionate about theater and history, she was the creator of various cultural projects aimed at children and aimed at free and conscious enjoyment.

Armanda Bertini Bio: graduated in Literature at the University of Genoa, she taught History of Art in high schools. “Armando Gori and Premuda’s feat between History and Myth – from the papers of the family archive” is the title of the thesis which began the search for other sources to reconstruct the figure of the maternal grandfather.

This event will also be an opportunity for discovery and comparison, according to a common thread which is that of the “Journey”… and during the year, the series of meetings and presentations will continue with the main mission of spreading the book and reading also through the magazine of the HIROMag Review Association.

The event is free with reservations welcome.
