As we well know, the new Superman signed James Gunnout onJuly 11, 2025will represent a real reboot compared to all previous films, while the part of our beloved Kryptonian alien will officially pass by Henry Cavill to David Corenswet.
Nevertheless, Zack Snyder he still has something to say about it and, during a promotional interview for his Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scarer, revealed what the plot of his final film would be next Man of Steel (2013) e Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
Zack Snyder thus clarifies that he would have liked to end the series of films dedicated to Superman with the decisive confrontation between the Man of Steel and Darkseid: “He should have succumbed to Anti-Life, been destroyed, then turned back the clock and finally gotten his chance at a final battle against Darkseid,” the director said in his video interview with GQ. «In this way the trilogy would have ended with Superman becoming a guardian and thus, in some way, also ending up rediscovering his humanity».
These would therefore have been the plans in the director’s mind, which in a flash-forward of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had shown an image of Planet Earth after the apocalypse, dominated by Darkseid, who had now reduced a Superman deprived of his mind, his will and his memory to an uncritical and faithful right arm.
