It debuted last night, but will continue until April 21st.”Light over Banksy – Human Rights First“, installation, curated by Pepper’s Ghost, with which Banca Ifis “illuminates” with digital animation “The Migrant Child”, the work created in Venice by Banksy on Palazzo San Pantalon, recently purchased by the bank to make it its headquarters and an exhibition space.

Developed by artist Anderson Tegon and the Pepper’s Ghost creative team, “Light over Banksy – Human Rights First” is, as mentioned, a digital animation which acts on the light of the torch held by the child protagonist of Banksy’s work. When, after numerous attempts, the child finally manages to turn on the torch, the glow generates a beam of light that illuminates the entire Palazzo San Pantalon, transforming into an SOS that wants to draw attention to the issue of immigration and, more importantly, general, on the rights of minors and human beings.

The initiative, which not coincidentally falls on the inauguration days of the sixtieth Venice Biennale, anticipates the presentation of Ifis art, the project dedicated to art that the President of the Bank, Ernesto Fürstenberg Fassio, will present on Thursday 18 April, at 2 pm, in a meeting with the press at the Torre Nuova at the Arsenale of Venice. «Through this illumination we want to launch an SOS on the topic of safeguarding and protecting universal human rights, as provided for by the 1948 UN Charter. It is the first time that we have created an initiative of this type, with the aim of further strengthen the social message launched by Banksy who wants to be a source of inspiration and guide for us in the path of recovery and valorization of Palazzo San Pantalon. For this reason, we are already working on a partnership with the Genesi Foundation that will allow us to contribute to the defense of human rights through the valorization of contemporary culture and art”, declares Fürstenberg Fassio.

The initiative was made possible thanks to the support of the Municipality of Venice, the Superintendence and Vela Spa. The projection will be visible every evening, from 9.30pm to 11.30pm, until Sunday 21 April on the facade of Palazzo San Pantalon in Campo Santa Margherita.
