AND Italo Rota died, architect among the most prolific and visionary of recent decades. Rota passed away a 70 years old on April 6, 2024 in his hometown, Milanwhich saw him born on October 2, 1953. Among his most famous projects is the creation of the Museo del Novecento in Milan which overlooks Piazza Duomo, in the pre-existing Palazzo dell’Arengario.
Milan mourns the death of Italo Rota
Italo Rota was ill for some time and it was hospitalized to the hospital Humanitas. The president of Triennale Milano Stefano Boeri, speaking with theHandleannounced that the burial chamber will be set up “in Triennialwhich is his home.”
Writes about X the mayor of Milan Beppe Sala: “The passing of Italo Rota deprives us of one of greatest world architects, one of the freest and most brilliant spirits in Milan. When no one believed in Expo, he was close to me with his ideas and energy. His work will continue to increase the charm of Milan in the world.”

Who was Italo Rota
Italo Rota graduated in 1982 from the Polytechnic of Milan. His professional training took place first in the studio of Franco Albini and later in that of Vittorio Gregotti.

The promenade of Foro Italico in Palermo it earned him the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture for Public Spaces 2006. The design of the Museo del Novecento in the Palazzo dell’Arengario in Piazza Duomo in Milan arrived in 2010.
