Our family mourns the death of Gigliola Casati

CONEGLIANO – «He enthusiastically participated in the life of the institute and the La Nostra Famiglia association» we read in the epigraph. The funeral of. will be celebrated on Tuesday at 4pm in the Cathedral Gigliola Casati, born in 1948, who dedicated his life to children with disabilities. After the rite she will be buried in the urban cemetery of San Giuseppe. Tonight at 8pm the rosary will be recited in the main hall Our family in via Costa Alta, on the ridge of the hill behind the castle, where he had played a role of great responsibility.

THE CONDOLENCE

«With his style always attentive to the person, his tireless commitment to apostolic work at the service of children and their families, workers, young people, groups of families and friends – it is underlined – he embodied good done well, a precious legacy of Blessed Luigi Monza». After having participated as a young person in volunteer experiences, as a social worker, in the main headquarters of La Nostra Famiglia in Lombardy in Bosisio Parini, in 1965 Gigliola Casati made the choice to become part of the community of the Little Apostles of Charity and live like this the message of their founder Luigi Monza. In 1981 she was sent by the then president of the association Zaira Spreafico to the rehabilitation center of Conegliano, where for her merits in 2019 she obtained the Civilitas Award of the Dama Castellana «for being a bright horizon for all the families in difficulty”.

THE MEMORY

Under her influence, first as headquarters director and later as regional general director, the center has experienced moments of great growth, until it became a hospital center with IRCCS recognition, a national reference center for epilepsies and a regional reference center for ADHD and rare diseases. Always attentive to the quality of the service provided, she managed to combine the skills of professionals with the needs and requirements of children and their families. «Disability argued – it must not remain relegated to the hillsalthough very beautiful, but must be experienced and welcomed through inclusion processes that should be part of everyday life.”
