Parma, 10 May 2024 – Monday May, 20th toUniversity of Parma the fourth edition of the Summer School The challenges of packaging for the circular economy, higher education school organized by the University of Parma in collaboration with the Universities of Bologna, Modena and Reggio Emilia and supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The school is aimed at doctoral students, research fellows and employees of companies producing and using packaging. During the lessons, various topics were addressed, all connected to packaging, sustainability and the challenges of the sector. Innovation in materials and transformation processes, the role of packaging in the circular economy, models for evaluating socio-environmental impacts are just some of the key themes. In addition to lectures, the school offers visits to research laboratories and companies in the sector: a dialogue between the university and corporate contexts, with a view to progress in the name of sustainability.

The professors involved come from a dense network of collaborations tested over the years thanks to the academic context of the participating universities, strengthened by the connections of the CIPACK Interdepartmental Center and the Master in Packaging.

The lessons will take place for a week in person at the Conference Center of the Science and Technology Campus of the University of Parma and an afternoon online.
