THE 3rd RALLY COSTA DEL GARGANO IT BEGINS IN THE SIGN OF ZAMBON
The Venetian pilot is the protagonist of the CRZ race, leader after the first two Special Stages with a passage through the town of Monte Sant’Angelo, followed by Bergantino and from Azzarone. Tomorrow is an intense day with eight PSs and the arrival at the tourist hub of Manfredonia at 6pm.
From the spectacular start of the 3rd Costa del Gargano Rally, the second stage of the CRZ ACISPORT which started this afternoon from the tourist port of Manfredonia and began with the dispute of the first two Special Stages, the first during the day and the second at night, on the Macchia-Monte stretch Sant’Angelo consecrated by the public for passing through the inhabited center of the city of San Michele, the cloud of possible candidates for success in the race organized by Gargano and Tecno Motor Racing Team with the patronage of the Puglia Region, Department of Sport and Health immediately emerged , ACI and the Province of Foggia, the Gargano Park and the municipalities of Manfredonia, Mattinata and Monte Sant’Angelo.
The leader of the first two time trial challenges of the “Macchia-Troiano Petroli” PS, 11.67 km long along the legendary climb of the Daunian promontory, is the Venetian Stefano Zambon who, assisted in the notes by the Emilian Gabriele Romei, aboard the Citroen Team Easi’s C3 WRC Plus achieved the best time of 15’59”.1. Behind him, with a gap of 9″9, the Skoda Fabia R5 Rally 2 of the home favourite, the multiple CRZ champion and winner of the first two editions of the Costa Giuseppe Bergantino, navigated by Mirko Di Vincenzo. At a distance, provisional third place for the vice president of the Gargano Racing Team Pietro Azzarone, with Fiore Iscaro at the wheel of a Volkswagen PoloR5 Rally 2 and a guarded fourth position goes to the Salento Motori driver Francesco Rizzello, flanked by Fernando Sorano on the Hyundai i20 . The brawl is only just beginning and it will remain to be seen who will take home the victory and the final podium.
The plan of the competition tomorrow, Sunday 28 April, comes to life and there will be 8 Special Tests involving the 52 participating crews, the PS Mattinata – Tecnoedil to be repeated three times with passages of the first car set at 10.04, 14.17 and 17.10, the PS Monte – Automania (10.20, 14.33 and 17.26) and Carbonara- Tegliafilo (10.48 and 15.01). Arrival at the tourist port of Manfredonia is set for 6.18pm followed by the awards ceremony.
