in Italy Polimi, Rome and Bologna stand out

The best leaders in the world study at universities in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, the USA, Australia but also in Italy. And especially online. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) – specialized in analyzes of the university and high-level education sector – has published the annual ranking of excellent business schools in which to obtain a distance learning Master in business administration (MBA). Opening the ranking is Imperial College Business School in London, first in terms of professional opportunities and educational experience. But among the 100 best universities in the world there are also three Italian schools: the business school of the Polytechnic of Milan, the University of Bologna and the Rome business school. QS only considered MBAs that can be attended from home, a method increasingly requested by professionals also for work, as demonstrated by the rankings of the most popular companies for making a career in Italy.

What is the ranking based on?

To evaluate the quality of the institutes in the Business administration path, the company examined four parameters: faculty and teaching, class profile, employability, class experience. That is, it attempted to assign a score to the quality of research and teachers, to the composition of the classroom in terms of gender diversity and internationality of the participants, to the impact of the MBA on the employment level and to the training experience that the course offered. Among the ten best faculties in the world is the Polimi Graduate School of Management, which ranks eighth in the ranking with 78 points. First in the ranking, in addition to Imperial College Business School in London, IE Business School in Spain, and Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom. Followed by the Australian AGSM, the Kelley Direct programs of Indiana University, the Alliance Business School of Manchester and the Tepper School of Business of Carnegie Mellon.

How Europe and Italy position themselves

Of the 34 business schools analyzed in the Europe-Middle East-and Africa region, 32 are schools based in the European geographical area. They are found mainly in the United Kingdom, which occupies the highest number of positions in the ranking, but also in Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. The Polimi business school is first in the world for the quality of its teachers and research. «The recognition of the quality of our teachers and teaching – commented Vittorio Chiesa and Federico Frattini, respectively President and Dean of Polimi Graduate School of Management – in which we are first in the world according to the opinion of 95 thousand international academic profiles, pushes us to continue to innovate our educational offering”. In the same parameter, Bologna University Business School is eighth with 92.8 out of 100. Also ranking well according to QS is the Rome business school, 63rd in the ranking but first for class experience, i.e. the value and effectiveness of learning.
