Russia lost “730 soldiers” in the last day
Russia has lost 460,260 soldiers in Ukraine since the war began on February 24, 2022. This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This number includes 730 casualties suffered by Russian forces over the past day. According to the report, Russia also lost 7,236 tanks, 13,904 armored combat vehicles, 15,812 fuel vehicles and tanks, 11,736 artillery systems, 1,046 multiple launch rocket systems, 768 air defense systems, 348 aircraft, 325 helicopters , 9,385 drones, 26 boats and a submarine.
Sweden ready to finance German alliance for aid to Kiev
Sweden is ready to contribute «financially to the German initiative» on the immediate delivery of air defense systems for Ukraine. The Foreign and Defense ministers said this when they arrived at the “jumbo” council of Luxembourg. Stockholm stressed that parliament approved an aid package worth almost 700 million euros last month and that the aid – including anti-aircraft – is being delivered “in these days”. “We are also ready to consider sending more Rbs 70 (portable anti-aircraft guns, ed.),” added Pål Jonson, defense minister.
Ukraine stronger “with rapid aid”
The Ukrainian defense forces will be able to weaken the Russian offensive provided that US military aid arrives quickly: the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes on its website. The US research center continues to believe that Ukrainian forces could suffer further setbacks in the coming weeks as they await US armaments that will allow Kiev to stabilize the front. However, the report points out, “it (the new aid) will likely be able to weaken the current Russian offensive if US assistance resumes in a timely manner.” In this regard, ISW experts quote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to whom a rapid delivery of American military aid to Ukraine could allow Kiev’s forces to stabilize the front line and regain the initiative.
Kiev: 6 Russian drones shot down in Odessa
