He mercilessly massacred his young wife and, to get rid of her body, he didn’t even hesitate to cut it in half. 200 pieces before dispersing them into the river: for this brutal murder, the person responsible, 28-year-old Nicholas Metson, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Lincoln court today, Monday 8 April.

A case that shocked the United Kingdom, and which dates back to March 2023, when Metson stabbed the 26-year-old to death Holly Bramleywith whom he had recently married: the events occurred inside the apartment where the couple lived together, in Stamp End, Lincoln, capital of the English county of Lincolnshire.

The details of the plan implemented by the 28-year-old to get rid of the girl’s corpse are particularly disturbing: the body, in fact, was dismembered and divided into around 200 parts, subsequently placed inside different bags who were thrown into a river. Collaborating in the cover-up operations was a friend of the murderer, a certain Joshua Hancock, who was paid just 50 pounds, i.e. around 58 euros: for the latter the judges of the Lincoln court determined a sentence of 3 years and 3 months of imprisonment. Metson, however, will spend at least the next 19 years and 316 days behind bars, before he can possibly ask for parole.

According to what was reported by The Guardianafter cutting his wife’s body into pieces, the 28-year-old set up a farce to convince relatives and friends that Holly Bramley was still alive: to do so he continued to use the 26-year-old’s Facebook profile, and even sent himself of money from the victim’s bank account.

All efforts by Metson proved futile, as his charade was discovered thanks to the images taken by some surveillance cameras, in which the boy could clearly be seen moving numerous bags from his apartment during the early hours of March 25, 2023. Suspicious, the investigators searched the couple’s apartment and found “a strong bleach smell” as well as obvious traces of blood on towels and sheets. Traces of suspicious searches carried out on Google, for example, also emerged from his cell phone history “how to get rid of a dead body” And “what benefits can I get if my wife dies”.

“Metson’s behavior was barbaric, and not only did he kill his wife, but he also attempted to dispose of her body, preventing her from obtaining a proper burial.”commented investigation manager Jennifer Lovatt. “She tried to cover her tracks by telling friends that Holly had harmed herself, had been taken away by a local mental health team and had then run away to stay with a group of people in Manchester.”.

“I would like to thank Holly’s family, who have behaved with great dignity throughout the ordeal, for their cooperation and support.”he concluded.
