According to what the Police du Valaisone of the dead is a fifteen year old American, while identification operations are still underway for the other two people – a woman and a man. The wounded man, however, is a Swiss man of twenty.
The prosecutor has opened an investigation in collaboration with the cantonal police. The Police du Valais, the OCVS 144 paramedic association and several other rescue partner organizations intervened on site for the search.

In the early afternoon today – Monday 1st April – one Avalanche it came loose in location Riffelbergin the area of Zermattin Switzerland.
The provisional balance sheet – as reported by the Police du Valais – is three dead and one injured. As night fell, the rescue services interrupted the search for any other missing persons, which will resume tomorrow morning.

The news was released by the Swiss authorities. There were several people present in the area at the time of the detachment, which occurred around 2pm. According to the police there could be someone involved.
