Thomas Beretta, center back Vero Volley Monza: “It’s a great shame because we started badly, with a first set to forget. In this Italian Cup I was a bit hopeful, for me the Final Four is very important and I care about it, it’s one of the best weekends for Italian volleyball. But we have to deserve it, we have to be among the four strongest teams in Italy and for now we’re not yet. I have to say, however, that we behaved well from the second set onwards, we came out of the giant hole we were digging for ourselves and we showed once again that we know what we know to do, that we are a team that can be very tough. Now we rest for these two days and then we return for the championship, for a second round in which we aim to take more points than in the first leg.”

Itas Trentino takes the field with Sbertoli as director and Faure as opposite, Michieletto and Jordi Ramon as spikers, Flavio and Bartha in the center, Laurenzano as libero. Vero Volley Monza responds with Zimmermann as director and Padar on his diagonal, Röhrs and Atanasov spikers, Beretta and Mosca in the center, Scanferla libero.
FIRST WEEK
Trento starts strong and on 4-1 forces Vero Volley into the first time-out of the evening. The hosts, however, did not stop their run and significantly extended their lead thanks to a poisonous serve and an efficient attack. The scoreboard scores 20-9 when the set heads towards the conclusion which comes with Jordi Ramon’s attack (25-13).
SECOND WEEK
In the wake of the previous partial, the home team immediately attempted to move forward (9-6). Coach Eccheli tries to shake up the team by calling a time-out, which responds by bringing the team back to -1 (10-9). Itas creates the new rift (19-15) and this time it is decisive for the fate of the game. For Monza there is no more room for a comeback and he gives up 25-19.
