They are both in the top 5 of the most watched films at the cinema of 2025. Both will arrive on Sky and NOW in the next few days.
The first is an adaptation of the best-selling video game of all time, whose cinema screening created problems for the chicken jokey meme, which in the worst cases brought havoc to cinemas resulting in the removal of rowdy spectators (we talked about it here).
The second is the spin-off of a very expensive and spectacular successful saga, the film that made Scarlett Johansson the highest paid actress in the world by virtue of its monstrous budget. The screenplay is written by David Koepp, author of the first Jurassic Park and a new Spielberg film about UFOs coming out next year.

The popular Swedish video game becomes a fantastic comedy in live action, capable of reaching the top of the global box office, with Jason Momoa and Jack Black. Garrett, Henry, Natalie and Dawn are dealing with the usual everyday problems when they are suddenly dragged through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre cubic wonderland. To return home, they will have to learn to master this world, with the help of an expert local builder, and protect it from the threat of Piglins and Zombies.

Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali in the seventh chapter of the franchise capable of conquering the cinematic summer in theaters around the world. Five years after the events of Jurassic World – The Dominationthe planet’s ecology proved largely inhospitable to dinosaurs, and those that survived were confined to isolated environments. The creatures, however, contain in their DNA the key to a drug that could bring miraculous benefits to humanity and, to collect it, they are sent on a secret mission.

I watch films and play video games, from a certain point in life I also started writing about them. I am fascinated by the remote corners of the internet, the graphics of the first 3D video games and the images that fall under the not at all defined umbrella of the term aesthetic, with respect to which I carry out a compulsive cataloging activity that has as its point of arrival some Instagram profiles. However, the TV series with the best aesthetics (and the best overall) is The X-Files, which I never ended up not conceiving the thought “there are no more episodes of The X-Files to watch for the rest of my life”. Same thing with Evangelion (the manga).
