The announcement regarding the Rai license fee
It was last year, 2023, when the draft of Northern League bill had enjoyed the favor of many taxpayers: the text envisaged a progressive reduction in the amount of the Rai license fee, with the promise of its cancellation over time.
In fact, already this year the Rai license fee no longer amounts to 90 euros, but rather a 70 euros, amount divided into 10 tranches of 7 euros each which are included in the electricity bill.
Today’s reality
The presence of the fee in bill it had already been included by the government Renzi, which, however, had not changed the amount, except in relation to the change in the payment method: previously, in fact, when the fee was paid via payment slip, its amount was 113 euros.
So far, the promise to reduce the license fee has therefore been kept: the League, one of the current government majority parties, had specifically announced a reduction in the Rai license fee by 20% every year until it reaches zero in 5 years. “You are free”, this is the feeling that many had after the possibility of cancellation of the Rai license fee was revealed, all that remains is to wait another 4 years and reach the long-awaited elimination of the canon.
