Eric Kripke calls Tek Knight, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s new character in The Boys season 4, “Butcher’s old colleague.” Let’s get to know him better.
It was only a matter of time before Jeffrey Dean Morgan became part of The Boys. She had previously worked with Eric Kripke in Supernatural but, when he realized the creative flair in The Boys, he understood that he wanted to enter that universe too. That wish of his has finally been fulfilled: as has been known for some time, she will appear in the fourth season, the first three episodes of which are expected on Prime Video for tomorrow, Thursday June 13th. And, according to the first previews, it seems that his character will play against Patriot supporting Butcher in his eternal battle against Vought.

Before I was even recruited into The Boys, Jeffrey Dean Morgan had made his love for the Prime Video TV series known. Loyal viewer, the actor of Supernatural will finally debut in the fourth season, but has not yet had the opportunity to preview the episodes, despite having all the means to do so. When I first saw it, I immediately knew, “I have to be on the show.” Because they turn the figure of the superhero upside down, there is a real deconstruction of the figure which in this day and age I think is damn brilliant. When it first came out it was all about Marvel.
Although strongly interested in The BoysJeffrey Dean Morgan had to manage another obstacle: his commitment to The Walking Dead: Dead City. Eric Kripke had already given him (away X) his availability to welcome him in the third season, sparking the enthusiasm of the fans. Due to his commitments, Morgan was unable to be in the third season, much to the chagrin of Kripke, who reiterated the misfortune to the microphones of EW. After that interview, the actor understood that he would have to find a way to fit everything together and he finally succeeded. The fourth season officially introduces Tek Knighta prominent character in the comics of The Boys and introduced as “an old colleague of Butcher” by Kripke, who immediately thought of Jeffrey Dean Morgan for the role:
I can tell you that he shares much of Butcher’s concern and hatred for superheroes. It actually comes from the idea that everyone else in The Boys is always trying to push Butcher away. So what would happen if he started working with someone who supported him for once?
