Before the Egghead saga fans of one piece they were not certain of the actual power of the 5 Stars of Wisdom: there were those who considered them powerful warriors, and those who thought they were just political figures. With the last chapters of the manga Oda has completely distorted the perspective, revealing that the Gorosei are actually extremely powerful.
Among the 5 Elders stands out a formidable swordsman, V. Nusjuro, the one who can also transform into the ghostly Bakotsu, the equine-shaped yokai. He has proven to be extremely fast thanks to his hybrid form, and to be a formidable swordsman, managing to cut through the entire Labophase with a single blow.
The question arises: is V. Nusjuro on the same level as sword monsters like Mihawk and Shanks? Most likely the answer is yes, and maybe the Elder might even be more dangerous than the two piratesthanks to his regenerative power which essentially gives him immunity to most blows.
The characters in question have never clashed, at least as far as we know, with the Elder, but if this were to happen it certainly wouldn’t be possible take Gorosei’s defeat for granted. While waiting to know what the future clashes could be, here is a detail from Oda that could anticipate which Gorosei Zoro and Sanji will face.
Whether or not it is a Devil Fruit, the powers of the 5 Stars of Wisdom they give these monsters superhuman strength and abilities, combined with a very powerful Conqueror King’s Haki and practically immediate wound regeneration. For these reasons ours should only flee, and the battle between Gorosei and Mugiwara could be postponed to the next sagas.
