Rome, 8 May 2024 – The words of Massimo Bernardini when, a few days ago, he announced his decision to abandon the management of “TV Talk”. On May 25th thelast episode of this season of the program and will also be the day of farewell by the presenter, the historical face of the weekly event. At the basis of his choice, the desire to take a break and the desire to do so when the program is at the peak of its success and does not show any tiredness: “I am convinced that leaving a program at its peak of success, and not when it begins to to wobble is the right thing to do. Finally, I feel that it is a duty for those of my generation to pass the buck to the younger ones.”
The success of TV Talk and who could replace Massimo Bernardini
“Tv Talk” was born in 2001 and, at the time, it was called “The great talk”, broadcast on Sat 2000, a television owned by the CEI. From the following year, it was Massimo Bernardini himself who proposed the alliance between Sat 2000 and Minoli’s Raieducational and the program was broadcast on TV at 7am on Saturday on Rai3. Then, in the last 18 years it became “TV Talk” and was moved, as a fixed appointment, to Saturday afternoons on Rai 3. Fixed points of the program are Sebastiano Pucciarelli, Cinzia Bancone And Silvia Motta with attention to the analysis of the programme, to its relative success or failure without forgetting the democratic use of the share and of the viewers who follow the program under the magnifying glass. Another key element are the analysts, a group of young people who discuss and ask interesting questions to the various guests present on the programme. And after Massimo Bernardini’s exit, who will replace him? He himself admitted a wish: “Who will replace me? I have no idea. I wish it were one woman, a young presenter better than me, who maintained something of my journalistic passion”. Among the names that have emerged in the hypotheses of who will be at the helm of TV Talk, some names have already been circulated but all of them to be confirmed. We talk about Francesca Fialdini, Mia Ceran And Giorgia Cardinaletti. We will only have the official announcement at the end of this television season before the host bids farewell (forever?) to the public who have followed him in these twenty years at the helm of the program. Bernardini hopes that the young people who supported him in this adventure can also remain and that the historic headquarters, that of Milan, where the program is recorded, will also remain. Among the hypotheses in the field is also that of making “TV Talk” finally live, with real-time analysis of what happened and emerged on the small screen. Speaking on the broadcast about the news of his abandonment of the program, the host confirmed what he himself declared: “I thank you for the affection you are showing me. I also see it around Milan and Italy but let’s not exaggerate now. But we will only deal with it in the last episode, the one on May 25th”. And in a few weeks, the next one Saturday 25 May, a long chapter and a page in television history will close. Because 22 years of running a program isn’t for everyone…
