The Shin Bet chief flew to Malmo, where the Eurovision song contest begins today, to coordinate security measures for Israeli participants. This was indicated by the Ynet portal, specifying that Ronen Bar headed to Sweden last week leading a delegation of officials responsible for the protection of ‘VIPs’. The Shin Bet believes that Israelis could be targets of provocations” in the Swedish city.

According to the National Security Council, there are “well-founded fears” that “terrorists” will target Israelis attending Eurovision.

Canale 12 reported in recent days that Israel’s representative at Eurovision, Eden Golan, will be accompanied by a much higher level security team compared to what happened with any other singer in previous editions of the festival.
