Maria and Salvador have decided that the wedding will not take place: the waitress has understood that her fiancé is not ready to take the big step, due to his terrible experience in the war. Furthermore, Fernandez confessed to him that he had kissed Lope while he was away, and that she was very confused about her feelings for the cook ever since. Maria’s decision to postpone the wedding will push Lope to want to understand if the maid reacted in that way because she is in love with him.
Lope will push Maria to confess the truth to him and to tell him whether she loves him or not: the waitress will not be able to clarify her feelings and will not know what to answer him. Meanwhile, Don Romulo has Don Gregorio arrested after discovering that he was about to attack Pia. The butler was able to get rid of his enemy, but above all he saved the life of the poor governess. Alonso and Pia, however, will have to face the Marquis again: they will be forced to inform the nobleman of what happened and they will have to do so before the news reaches someone else.
